Happy Birthday Chloe

It's hard to believe that Chloe is TWO YEARS OLD!!!!!
We had her Birthday party on Saturday. We went for a sleigh ride and out for Chinese food and cake. I think everyone had a good time. There was a few stressful moment but nothing out of the norm for having a gathering of 30 plus people. Next year we might scale it back a bit.

Highlights of the day: We stopped on the sleigh ride and Chloe said "Wow! horses have hairy bum". Troy and Carol got stuck driving up the lane to the sleigh rides (they pulled over to let someone pass, not knowing there was a ditch under that snow) one of the horses then towed the minivan out of the ditch. My Aunt Jody (AKA: Silly Jody) with my Nanny and her boyfriend Ben, came for the party from Fredericton. Chloe did a great job saying thank you for all her gifts. By the end it was getting harder to hold her attention. Chloe loved her Birthday dress. she calls it her Snow White dress. The first time she put it on she said, "Mommy I'm beautiful. Lets dance.". IT doesn't get much better then that.

Jack Frost

We bundles up and spent most of the weekend out in the cold. It was a great weather for it. Much better then last year. Chloe was able to really enjoy it this time around. She loved to see the people dressed up as her favorite characters.. but only at 20 feet away. Any closer and she hung onto me for dear life.

The Great Skate

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share a few of the pics we got of Chloe's first experience skating. She did better then her Mum did. I made three laps around the rink and I had to go put my boots back on. My feet were killing me. Chloe did great. She did some skating with no support. I would say she went eight or so strides and then she started wnating to jump. Not a good combination: skates, ice and jumping.

Long Time no Blog!

Hi People,

It has been a while since I have posted any new updates about miss Chloe Grace. As any Mom will tell you, it is hard to find time to do everything you want to do. There were times that I wanted to post something but found that making the memories were a bit more important then sharing them at that time. So... with that said here are some things that you may have missed if we haven't been in touch.

Thanks to all the people that keep checking to see if I got my act together and posted something. I promise to do better in the future. I love looking at all my friends pictures so I think it's only fair to share mine.

Chloe's First Frosty Treat experience... surely not the last

Well people, it had been a bit crazy here to say the least. Between working, eating and sleeping and cleaning up messes it doesn't leave much time to blog. But here are a few of my favorite pics of the last few weeks. I think they speak for themselves. Among the growing list of new things Chloe is learning are: where her bum and pee pee are, up and down, saying No No No! (her and us), and is we say "Mommy & Daddy Love...." she points to her self and says "Me,Me, Me!"....Life is Good.

Baby! What Baby... I don't see a baby!

Looking at these pictures and seeing our friends baby that is only a few weeks old, I realized that my baby is no longer a baby. She is such a little girl now. She is her own person who has strong opinions and doesn't mind sharing them. She enjoys long walks, dancing and anyone with a good sense of humor.

In the last year she has grown 10 inches and has almost tripled her height. I'm glad that doesn't happen every year. The girl would be massive.

Chloe said her first two word combo this morning. "Nice Cat!". Smegal and Precious are truly her pals. They let her beet them up all the time. She generally pets them and gives them hugs but sometimes she can be a bit ruff.

The Dollar Store is a great place to shop. Chloe loves her snazzy purse and matching earrings and necklace. Daddy however thought she looked like a little old lady.

This was a VERY big week for food with Chloe. She had milk for the first time, and she is doing great with it. She had food ordered at a restaurant, and she had ice cream. We went to East side marios on Saturday night and she had the plain chicken with some bread and milk. And she fed herself for the most part. She did a great job. On the way home we stopped at Dairy Queen and for her a strawberry Sunday. She ate a few spoon fulls and then figured out that it was more fun to play in then to eat. Immediately following she ice cream she had a bath. Grampy will be glad to know that the trips to dairy queen with Chloe can now begin!

Visitors from Away

Nanny Clowater, Jody & Troy came to see us last weekend. We were so busy having fun I didn't get as many pictures as I should have. All and all I think everyone had a good time. We shopped, ate, Jody was sick... My cooking must have set her off, and we went to church. Jason and Troy were able to go shopping to there favorite locations: Home Depo, Future Shop, Sobers.. And so on. While we were able to go and do what we wanted. Shop at Old Navy and Walmart. And Nanny go to go to her favorite store, Island Furriers.

Grampy's Birthday

This was taken, almost to the minute, a year after she was born. She did seem to enjoy the apple cinnamon cake I made her. Just not in this picture. Mom and Jason are holding down her hands so she doesn't burn herself on the candle.

If anything it was fun for her to make a mess.

Party Girl

On Sunday we had a party for Chloe's first Birthday. She had a great time once she got used to a bunch of people in her space. She danced, ate, opened a lot of great gifts, and danced some more. She would not nap and once everyone left and I was feeding her here supper she fell asleep mid bight. She has fallen a sleep in her high-chair before but just never while actually eating.

The Birthday Party Girl

Last Saturday Chloe and I went to two Birthdays Parties. One for a 4 year old girl and one for a her 70 year old Great Grampy. She had a great time at Holly's party with all the other kids. It was her first official friends birthday party. All other parties had adults only.

Snow Day

This was one of the first days this winter that we could take her out to play in the snow. It always seemed that it would melt to fast for us to go and play or it was just to cold. Today was just right. This was taken in our back yard.

She started doing this after Christmas and I was never able to get a picture of it because I was the one behind her to make sure she didn't fall. Jason is out of frame beside her in case of any accidents. This girl has no fear! Tonight was the first time that she stood up without holding the handles. We have to keep a close eye on this little monkey.

Great Nanny & Grampy Beat stopped in for a visit.

A bunch of my friends form high school came to see us over the break. Jo, Muenie, Katinda, Margo, and Sobia. One of the highlights was getting to meet Katinda's lil' girl Kaya. She is so cute and funny. Soon after this pic was taken she said. " Want to see something funny? I can put my foot in my mouth" .. good stuff.

Christmas Day....

Christmas morning and Miss Chloe slept until 9:00. Then she has her breakfast and we began the 3 hr process of opening gifts. Jason's Grandmother Mae was down from Summerside and my Mom and Dad came in first thing and spent the day. I think Chloe found gift opening to be some strange form of torture. She would open a toy and just be getting used to it and we would take it away and make her open something else.

After her lunch she had her Christmas nap.

And she had her first Christmas dinner. Sweet potatoes, squash, apple sauce and turkey. Her very first meat. Seconds after this picture was taken she threw up . She may be vegetarian like her Aunt Mandy.

Pre-Christmas Stuff

I know it's been a while since I have posted anything. I think it's because I have been taking so many pictures and eating so much. But the time has come to release all the great pics of our girl Chloe during her first Christmas.

This is Chloe seeing Santa for the first time at the Confederation Court Mall. She didn't cry or smile for that matter, she was just sorta in awe.

Chloe's Cousin Jacob is seeing just how sweet Chloe really is. This was taken at Jason's Family Christmas party.

This is Chloe and her second cousin Jacob. Jacob is exactly a month older then Chloe. He is very cute and a pro at crawling. He moves faster then some people walk. I think he may have taught Chloe to clap too. She would always clap with her fists closed.. and since seeing Jacob she's been clap'n up a storm.

The week before Christmas we went to Fredericton to see my family. She opened a bunch of gifts and one of her favorites was the bag it came in.

This is Chloe in her style'n leopard print shirt that her Nanny got her.

Her great uncle Blaine is telling her that he can't wait until summer so that he can chuck her in a pond at Rainbow Valley like he did to her Mum when she was her age. He said it was an "accident".

And here is the Chlo-bear and her Aunt Jody. I think she shops more for Chloe then anyone I know. Thank God for good deals state side.

It's Official, As of December 5th we have a walk'n baby. This is moments after her first steps. By the time we got the video camera out she was done for the night. So far her record amount of consecutive steps are 14.

Standing Ovation

For almost a month or so now she has been standing on her own. She now stands for as long and she wants to or until she wants to go some where .. then she crawls! Soon.. it'll happen soon.

This was just taken first thing one morning. She is normally in better humor then I am first thing in the morning.

First Movie & Parade

This was taken post movie. I think she liked it. She danced and clapped for most of the music until she just got played out half way through. So she slept and woke up refreshed by the end of the show. All and all she was great.

This one was taken as we watched the Santa Clause parade. We only made it halfway through because her poor little face was getting cold and the majority of the floats were fire trucks. So we'll be posting Santa pics later once we go see him at the mall.

Bug-A-Boooooo!

She was so good with her costume. I was expecting a lot of fussing with the hat but she did great. We made a tour of Jason's work, my office, and Beach Grove (My Mom's work) in the afternoon. Then in the evening we went to Jason's aunts and my parents place. By the end of the night she was passed out and slept through the night no problem.
We took these pictures down by the water at Beach Grove.

It's official, we have a toddler.
In the last few weeks she's learned how to crawl using
both arms and legs (instead of just the arms), sit up from lying down,

Not the best thing for her but she seems to like it.

We started a new program at the library. It's great to see her with other kids her age. This week she sat up from a crawling position. She did it once and hasn't figured it out since. But I know she did it because she saw another little girl do it ;0)

NS & NB Trip

The First Weekend in September we took a trip to Halifax -to- Fredericton -to- Miramichi and home again. It was a lot of miles to put on with a 6 month old baby but we did it. Next time we will only go to one city per trip.

We too the Ferry to NS and it was Chloe's first boat ride. I think she had a good time! It was a bit windy the day we went but she got her sea legs fast.

When We were in Halifax we visited Our Friends Diana, Darius, & Diego, and Ian too. I think we walked more that weekend then I normally do in a week. Those Halifax hills are great for the legs & blisters.
